1 I was completely against the "eleite idea" untill i got all the details

2 ya $49 for a year, BUT the 3 map packs cost me $45, so only a net loss of $5 BUT they claim that for elite members there will now be MONTHLY downloads...of both game maps and spec op missions...

ok, first the map packs.were $15 each, for me that is 3 pints of beer, not a major expense...

when i bought the Hardened edition last year I paid $80

doing that math i paid $80 for da game, $45 for 3 map packs (ALL very cool) for a total of $125

with the new plan i am paying only $99 OR a $25 dollar savings...

plus no hassles throughout the year, just download and play...

ALSO this is not the only neat new feature, all sorts of stuff in and out of game for elite players, including a TRUE (maybe?) clan setup!!! no mor Gamebattles, we can now do it through the game itself! anyway i wouldnt have gotten elite just for the clan bonus, BUT throw in the FREE maps, and I was SOLD...

Also DLC every month.. If your a COD gamer you cannot go wrong with the hardened edition.. It adds up.. trust us..

Well, I'm sold, or at least the wife is/was. Seems she does listen to me when I talk, but can't keep birthday gifts a surprise very well. She surprised me with the MW3 Hardened Pre-order thingy last night.

If I'm understanding the Hardened edition contents correctly, it comes with the 1-year Elite membership? If that's correct, then we'll actually be saving money on DLC, assuming they would be releasing 3 DLC map packs over the next 12-months.

Your missing out.. BY FAR THE BEST MAP PACKS to be released are the last 2. I can understand if you not a zombie guy not to get resurrection.. BUT the ANNIHALATION map pack with drive in, hazard, silo, and Hanger is HANDS DOWN the BEST DLC for BO...

BTW, I really like the last map pack, not the Zombie one, but the Annihilation one. Not the biggest fan of Drive-In, mostly cus I seem to get killed every time I round a corner, but I do like the map. And I absolutely HATE Zoo. Not sure which DLC that was with, but I would gladly trade it in on another map!

Maybe 4 hours of Double XP might appeal, but at £79.99 for hardened vs £39.99 for standard, I need to find £40 of value. That needs to be over 3 DLCs alone, plus some extra. I'd rather wait for the DLCs as I don't see the £40 of value there. Sorry folks if you disagree, but I'm not paying the extra for a 'promised' bit of content - the way I see it, they have your money, they don't HAVE to produce good map packs, they could slack off if they wanted to!

Well since they decided at Activision to keep the numbers but change the currency trick, well all I can say is Activision is trying to screw you guys over Considering that £79 is equal to $122. Stupid falling dollar values.

That is a seriously stupid thing Activision is doing! They should adjust the price accordingly, to make it equal to what you would have to pay here in the US.

yes, but I can play us games on my system I think. and its not just activision m8, its most companies do the same thing, charging the $price with a £ symbol in fornt. Chevrolet Corvette - $54,045. in the UK? guess what the price is £69,990 - second hand!!!!!!!

i wish...the pain is mentally disturbing. But sayng that, we have a "free" healthcare system and no guns :-)

I'll take the Healthcare but I'll keep the guns thank you. They aren't bad if you're hunting or using them for recreation but for defense well it's almost useless.

I think the whole Elite thing is just now starting to work.

I just got my Elite title/emblems yesterday! And the Elite app is starting to work more often than not, though, I will like B/O's career info better!

B.O. def had its shit together. The Elite seems more and more like a waste.

I'm thinking that the only perk to Elite, is the discount on DLC. Of course, that is if they release at least 3 map packs this year!

I finally had a chance to use the Elite App to get some useful game information. Recent games worked and player search worked, too. I was able to use the Compare feature, as well as look at other players Player cards. Still doesn't have the same amount of information available as BO, but at least they didn't do away with it completely!

Still no luck with the Clan thingy, though!

You know what, it's like IF didnt realise Treyarch actually produced BO, and ignored the cod points, the playercard, and all the other neat fetures that were introduced. I think calling MW3 and MW2.5 is not far off the mark, but at the same time is a compliment, because its everything MW2 SHOULD have been in the first place...

Ok. Looks like the Clan thing is finally up and running. I searched for, and didn't find Fortay, so I went ahead and created it before some other clan does.

It doesn't look like the invite system is working properly atm, though. I'll keep checking on this, and start sending invites ASAP.

Ok, finally managed to get the invites figured out. I'm starting to send out invites to all active members on the current PS3 list.

It sounds like the invites may/maynot show up immediately in the Elite app feed. You should be able to log into the elite.callofduty.com site to see the invites as well.

I got a accepted my invite. Looks like everyone can give the clan xp. We will see how that plays out..
